Misfortune is a unique tower defense RPG that combines strategy, adventure and exploration. It transports players to the magical but endangered world of Ezernia, a world where magic has become a source of tragedy and conflict. In this game, players experience the journey of various heroes from different races who must band together to confront an ever-growing threat. No place is safe from the shadows of the past and the dangers of the future.

The heart of Misfortune: Units instead of towers

At the heart of the game is an innovative mechanic that reinterprets classic tower defense elements. Instead of towers, players rely on units that are strategically placed on the battlefields. Each unit has individual strengths, weaknesses and special abilities that can be upgraded using resources such as magic points, skill points and level points.

Magic points are used during waves to cast attacks or supporting spells, while skill points are used for strategic preparations, such as motivational speeches or permanent buffs for the units. Level points, on the other hand, increase the experience and combat strength of the units during the mission.

The text-based adventures: depth through decisions

Another special aspect of Misfortune are the text-based adventures. Between waves, the player decides how to face the current danger and what risks they are prepared to take. These sections not only offer an exciting contrast to the combat elements, but also the opportunity to find treasures, avoid dangers or influence the number of attack waves. Every decision can have far-reaching consequences - both for the current mission and for the rest of the game.

An epic journey through Ezernia

The story of Misfortune unfolds in a dark world where each race has a unique perspective and its own challenges.

The journey begins in the halls of a dwarven king who sends a group of brave heroes on a seemingly simple mission. But it soon becomes clear that the true threat is far greater and more complex than anyone expected.

The threats: Of Rakans and shadow creatures

Players are confronted with a variety of enemies that make every mission a challenge. At the beginning of the game, the main opponents are the Rakans, a wild and chaotic race that roams Ezernia plundering and destroying. But soon a far more menacing force comes to the fore: the shadow creatures.

Atmosphere and scenery

Misfortune attaches great importance to an atmospheric depiction of the world of Ezernia. Each mission is embedded in a detailed setting that immerses the player deeper into the story. Whether in the glittering halls of the dwarven mines, the steaming swamps of the lizards or the abandoned ruins of an ancient city - each environment tells its own story and feels alive.

The player takes center stage

In Misfortune, the player is always at the center of decisions. How many waves will he risk to secure valuable resources? What decisions will they make in the text-based sections to bring their missions to a successful conclusion?
